1. I have more readers than I realized. I feel a little egotistical saying this, but I've worried about not having enough readers. But, I've had a few people tell me that they've been reading my blog, but they aren't "officially" followers. I want you to know this, I appreciate you following me along on this journey. It's a long, difficult journey. I still have quite a bit of a way to go, but the encouraging comments. THANK YOU!!!
2. My hubby is very funny. He is my very best friend. We've been together for a very long time. This summer we will be together 20 years!!! Married for 16!!! We were babies ;) Actually we really were, he was 16 and I was 17 when we started dating. He makes me laugh, often. His new thing right now is that he is done watching new shows and getting into them, just to have them cancelled. Several new shows over the last few years we have gotten into has gotten cancelled. The newest, Mob Doctor. He's quite unhappy.
3. P's also trying to talk me into watching Dr. Who with him and M. I watch shows like Top 10 this and The Women of Dr. Who, etc. but haven't really watched a whole episode yet. I know quite a bit about the show. He believes I will get into it someday. I told him that I would make a deal with him. I'll watch one episode of Dr. Who and then he will watch one episode of Downton Abbey (by the way, the American premiere is Sunday). He said yes, but I don't believe him, unless he REALLY wants me to watch it ;)
4. I'm still doing PT for my back. My original physical therapist has not been helping me, meaning his appointments have been filled so I've been seeing someone else. So tonight he was teasing me that I've been "seeing someone else". Silly man. So, I do have a new therapist. But, I do like newest one. He's not quite such a PT meanie.
5. My kids are stinkin' awesome. Today was a good day. Ever just have a good day with your kids and just want to squeeze them!!?!?! Today was that day. L had a great day at school, which is awesome considering it was his first day back from a long break. His behavior sheet from the para-pro had 9 smiley faces (a big deal at our house) and no time outs!!! M had to make up a gym class (can you believe that?) so, she hopped on our new elliptical for a half an hour!!! She did good!!!! I was impressed!! They played Wii together tonight and my daughter started the second book in a series she's really enjoying. Ahhhh......
6. I went back to work today, I have tomorrow off. Kinda seems silly to go back for one day, but my regular work week is Monday thru Thursday and I told them that I would only take time off when the kids were off, so since the kids were back today, I went back today.
7. My dad needs prayers. I know God has already done some pretty awesome things so far for him, but if you could say a prayer for my dad, we would appreciate it.
8. My church does a 30 day fast starting on January 2. You choose how you want to fast. Whether it be a meal, or two, a Daniel fast, a fast from technology or whatever. Then take some time and have prayer time specifically for certain things. I love my church!
9. Did I or have I ever mentioned I'm kinda a tv addict? I watch a lot of tv after everyone is in bed. Ask me if I watch a show that no one else in your life watches and you've always wanted to have someone to discuss it with, because I very well may.......one of our favorite shows is FINALLY coming back late next month. And if you are around our age, a lot of the jokes you will get. Pysch on the USA network!! We even rewatch a lot of the episodes on Netflix!!
10. Whew, number 10. Kinda giving you a lot of random info about me today. Last one. Everyday I need to make sure that the dryer is empty when the kids get home from school. Why you ask? So that snow pants and mittens can go in the dryer to be dried for school the next day. Yep, I live in the part of the country blanketed with snow in which I'm sure my son is covered in every recess :)
TTFN!!

Hustle and Bustle
I had this problem last year too. I go into the season with good intentions. Knowing this is the season we celebrate our Savior's birth. That we give gifts to one another that we put precious thoughts into hoping they are going to love. We hang wreaths on our doors, put trees in a lot of rooms and decorations everywhere.
But, I'm still not feeling very Christmas-y "yet"! I'm hoping this weekend is a BIG turnaround for me! My hubby and I both have this weekend off and although having a Friday off together is usually fun, today, it's full of appointments and running kids to their appropriate social engagements.
Tomorrow, however, we have NOTHING planned! So, maybe Christmas lights. Christmas movies that have been DVR'd.
Sunday is a really big day at our church. It's called Family Christmas. It's a chance for our church to recognize families in our church that are living the "Christmas story" in their everyday lives. People show up to church, having no clue they were picked to be a part of the day to be honored! I've never been to one (we've only been at our new church, well, this is our second Christmas) and I've heard awesome stories. So, we've made a plan. We are going to early service. EARLY service is so hard to do, but we are doing it. Since we don't have a para-pro at church right now, we have someone helping L at home. We are going to see if L's babysitter, who is AWESOME by the way, will then meet us at my parent's church, where we will be showing up late, but I am hoping to catch some of my nephew's Christmas program! Whew!!!
So, there you go. I've had a lot of work stuff going on, but I shall not go into detail.....for now.
In band news, quite a few PB episodes, but they are my own fault. You would think after having this thing 6 months, I'd learn. Still learning I guess. A new complication has arose it's ugly head, however. My back is out. Yep, did you know you can throw your back out LOSING weight? Apparently, all that fat was holding my core muscles into place around my spine. Now that it is dissipating, no core muscles. So, my doctor tried a couple of different muscle relaxers for a few weeks, but PT is where I've ended up. Yep, doctor ordered workouts. Guess it's the only way to actually get me to the gym.
My weight loss is currently at is 94 pounds. It's so hard for me to grasp that I was carrying around all that weight. I did have someone at work say something to me yesterday, I brushed off, but was like, really? Did you really just say that? We were having a going away breakfast for an intern and I chose not to eat anything (pure will power, which by the way has been TOTALLY lacking this time of year...and those bagels were my favorite, but I'm figuring bagels are no longer my friend since I've had the band installed). Someone made a comment about it and I said well, I've had like 50 oz. of liquid already this morning and I'm good for now. And someone else said something about my surgery. A lot of the people I work with knew me before my surgery but there are a few new people. Anyway, one of the new people said (I had mentioned yesterday I had lost like 92 lbs.) something like oh that's great, even when you have more to go....really? Sigh. Is that the youth of America?
Let me end on a positive note. I hope that everyone loves the gifts we bought this year for Christmas. I know my daughter will. The one gift we bought had to be shipped from the UK and was threatening not to be here in time for Christmas. Well, it came on Wednesday!!!! YEAH!! I just hope my son likes his gifts just as much. He didn't ask for anything for himself this year. It's been a tough couple of weeks, autism-wise, but when I see letters like this, it reminds me what a sweet, tenderhearted little boy he is.....

Catching Up
First off, I hope everyone had the happiest of Thanksgivings!!!! This was my first Thanksgiving banded and well, let's just say it was interesting and I am still learning things about my band 6 months later!!! I had a PB episode that day and another that weekend.
My weight has been fluctuating, which has been a high source of stress for me. So, I've decided to take a bit of a break. No, I'm not going to eat everything in sight, but my brain needs a break from the obsession roller coaster. Right now I'm just shy of 90 lbs. that's in less than 9 months. That's pretty amazing. So, I just need to give myself a break. I was really hoping for that 100 lb. mark before the end of the year, but it doesn't seem like its going to happen. With the holidays and shopping, parties and work, and most of all reflecting on my Savior's birth (which I need to do more), I really need to relax.
So, I hope all is well with you. I'll checking again, hopefully sooner than later!!!

Family
We had a lovely family weekend!! The only downfall of this weekend is that we may have spent a bit too much money. But let me breakdown of what we did.
I got it in my head that I needed to sell a bunch of stuff that I had, but I did not know how much stuff we had in our attic!! My poor husband had major work to get it all down. We spent about two hours getting the stuff down and then beginning to organize and start throwing some stuff away (I can't even believe that I kept some of the things I did).
Then my poor L was begging for food practically. So, we decided to go to Rainforest Cafe. The last time we tried to go there M was little and she was soooooo not having it. We ended up paying for the drinks we had just ordered and left. This time we actually got to eat there. But, L has some auditory issues associated with his ASD so when the thunderstorms came on, someone needed to cover his ears for him.
We then ran over to the Halloween store to see if they had the costumes my kids have chosen this year (sadly not themed as in years past). Both of my kids were not happy with all the "scary" stuff in the store and it didn't have either costume.
Later that evening we saw Finding Nemo in 3D! L wears noise canceling headphones in the theatre so he can enjoy the movie and eat popcorn at the same time :)
They both got a new DS game with money they were either given and/or earned.
Today we went to church where L had kids church and M had her jr. high class.
It's been a LOVELY weekend!!!!
I didn't mention P's family work day because they postponed it. :( He was quite shook up after the incident the other day. It was quite tragic. After everything was said and over, two people were killed. Awful. So thankful to God for protecting my husband. I know he was nowhere near the incident, but he had to hear a lot on his radio while it was happening, I'm glad he didn't have to see anything.
Now I have to tackle my mess in my family room. Oh my!! But between a mom to mom sale and a garage sale I'm hoping to get rid of most of it! Then we have cleaned out our shed, garage and attic!!!
Tonight in about 40 minutes is the Emmy Awards!! I'm very excited this year for some reason!! I love Mayim Bialik! I love her on The Big Bang Theory! If she doesn't win tonight, she will be robbed!!!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Bad Day Yesterday
We had a bad day yesterday. Like a REALLY bad day yesterday.
It started off fine. L told me that he didn't feel good after he sneezed a couple of times, but I thought, hmmmm, he's just trying to get out of school.
Off to school my kids went and about 25 mins. or so after they left I get a call from the school saying the bus was still in route to the school but they got a call saying that L had gotten sick on the bus. Sigh.
Poor buddy! So, I asked if they wanted me to meet them on the route or at the school, they wanted me to meet them at the school. So, armed with a new set of clothes, wash cloth and plastic bags, I went to the school a half an hour later (yes the bus route is that long).
Got him cleaned up and home and just as I was walking in the door I get a text from my husband saying, don't worry I'm not fired but I'm coming home soon. What?!?!??? What does that mean???
So, as I'm trying to pray for him and not trying to panic and freak out about that text, which by the way, he got a text back saying, um, you can't send me texts like this without more detail, I got clothes into the washer and L into the tub.
P texted me back more detail. A massive work violence incident had taken place and they were sending everyone home. Good thing he finally told me. I was worried about his job. Which is awful to say now. Something very terrible has happened. Then it was a good thing he texted me period. A little while later the news was blasting the event everywhere and I would have been worried about him had I not been able to get into contact with him.
So, once I knew he was ok, focus back on poor L. He was totally ok the rest of the day. I think he had some massive drainage going on and the bus ride did him in. We kept his diet kind of low key most of the day. He kind of laid around the house playing his Leap Pad and watching tv.
We had both kids' curriculum nights last night. SIGH. SIGH. SIGH. Apparently they have MASSIVELY changed the way they grade in our school district. They weigh test scores much more heavily now, which is not good for my girl. She is a hard worker. She does all of homework and tries very hard, but is not a good test taker.
I was kind of surprised to see her Language Arts teacher is covered in tats up one arm. Threw me off a little last night. Also, the fact that I'm older than him too. I think this is starting to become a trend. That means I'm getting old......
We really don't have to talk about the scale do we? Like I said yesterday, I have gained a half of pound and it hasn't moved in a while. This is really frustrating to me, but I also know what I'm doing wrong, so if I want it to change then I need to stop what I'm doing wrong to make it better!!!! I miss the honeymoon phase!!!!!!
Did I tell you P has a new role at work? He is a team leader. I think he is really going to like his new position and his team. He took doughnuts into work this morning, more specifically Krispy Kremes!! Mmmmm, doughnuts. We like Krispy Kreme. For a couple of reasons. One, um, they taste awesome. But, more importantly, they are totally nut free!! Yep, we can walk in there and our boy can have any of the doughnuts without worry!! It kind of rocks!
Today is Friday!!! Friday is always a good day right?? We kept L home just for good measure (even though I think he could have went to school). So, if I do any errands today, I have a 6 year old in tow.
Lots of plans this weekend and hopefully no sickness detours us! L has his first Tiger Cub meeting tonight. His uncle (my hubby's youngest brother) is the leader of his den. This is so awesome to me! For so many reasons. First, the meetings are at his house and he has already let the other parents know that a child in the den has a severe peanut allergy and that they need to be cognizant of that before coming. Second, my in-laws are well versed in L's autism, so if he needs a break from an activity, he can walk away without being judged. Also, since he knows their house, he can walk away to a place he knows :) Lastly (and most importantly), he will grow closer to his uncle and his cousin with my hubby in the scouting world. My daughter and I did Girl Scouts for 5 years (this is our first year NOT doing scouts) and we grew very close to the other scouts and moms. I anticipate this for my boys and for them to do it with family, can only be good :) I'm very excited for them!
P has a family day scheduled at work tomorrow. Not sure in the light of everything if it's still planned. If so, we plan on going with the kids. M's been there before when she was little, but L's never been. Also, Finding Nemo in the theatre has never been seen by L. He wasn't born yet ;) So, I think that may need to be in order. Oh and of course we may have to take advantage the cider mill again.
Have a good day everyone! I know I plan on it!

Ten Things Thursday (TTT)
1. :) Not only did I get my major goal of 75, I flew past it! I was 74.8 yesterday, today 76!! Yippie!!
2. School pics today for my 7th grader. She didn't want to wear anything too fancy and do anything too fancy with her hair. So, we made sure to iron the same shirt she wore the first day of school and curled her hair a bit today. Oh, and mascara and lip gloss of course!
3. I am finally on the mend!! Can I say thank goodness for steroids and antibiotics?!! The steroids have cleared up my head like crazy, but they are keeping me up at night. I cannot stand the side effects. My poor hubby caught what I had and was going to try to tough it out and not take his meds, he didn't make it. Started his doses last night....oh and one more thing. The doctor has me taking liquid antibiotics just to make it easier on my stomach/lap band. YUCK!! My poor kids, all these years they've been taking this stuff. Yucky......
4. My parents are celebrating their 38th wedding anniversary tomorrow!! How awesome is that!!
5. My little guy. What am I going to do with him?? Special needs, well, they aren't much fun sometimes. I keep getting notes home that he has at least one time out. So, we had a good little discussion last night. Hopefully he remembers everything we talked about and it gets better. Good thing his teachers are so awesome. They don't get paid enough, I'm sure!
6. The weather has been so lovely and we have been so couped up in the house with both parents being sick. The kids have been well. I think allergies are starting to get to the two of them, but other than that they've managed not to get what we have. Knock on wood...if I believed in that stuff ;)
7. I wish money grew on trees. P has a new job at work and is at training all week. He got a tiny bump in pay, and when I say tiny, I mean tiny. But, soon enough all his little overtime that we love we hear is going to go away. If that happens, well it's back to work for this SAHM. Which is fine, except my kids really like me being at home with them. Luckily I have an awesome relationship with the company I work for and do several projects here and there for them, so I can somewhat come and go. Never really full time. So, it works for us. Hopefully when I need to something will be there. Actually I have already began praying. God knows my needs and I know He can provide them. He always does.
8. Hoping to do some fun things again this weekend. We also need to do a little work again. I've been on a cleaning jag. Getting things all straightened up before winter hits. Feels like it's going to be here before I know it. M's room needs some serious organizing. L's does too. Actually all of his toys, AGAIN. Why is that a never ending battle?? Also, Finding Nemo in 3D starts Friday!! Who's going??? L wasn't born when it came out in the theatre's the first time. I jumped out of my skin when Bruce appeared for the first time. Can't imagine what he'll look like in 3D!! Hmmmm, maybe the cider mill again....might really need to make that a thing......
9. Gas is so stinkin' expensive, right?? I haven't been anywhere this week except the doctor! So, I guess that's the advantage of being sick. I've saved gas. Silver lining.......
10. I need some new ideas for dinner. I'm kinda getting sick of making the same things over and over again. I do look at pinterest often, but as a bandster and someone trying to eat a little more healthy, some of those recipes just don't cut it. Wondering what some of your favorite things to make are!
Have a great Thursday!!!

I Have So Much To Blog About
So much going on this week so let me get started.
On Saturday during our little snafu ridden getaway, we received a call that a good friend of our family, had passed away. He was 72. This man has been a part of my life from the get-go. My parents attend the same church my mom grew up in and I had grown up in. His wife had been my Sunday school teacher, she also taught M. His daughters, who are now my friends, used to babysit me and my brother. This man was always happy. Always willing to help. He loved everyone. He and M had a special thing but I didn't know where it had come from. For years they did this. Then the other day my dad and I dropped off food at the house my mom had made for them. And this is what I was told. The wife had been going through some sight issues so he would come in to help her in her Sunday school class where my daughter was. If he didn't do something quite the way she would the wife would say something like am I going to have to fire you? So, my M picked up on this. Every time she saw him (even as recent as Father's Day) she would say, "You're fired."My husband was given the highest honor of being asked to be a pallbearer. They all love P. the husband and P would talk about their favorite college and pro football teams. I never knew this but he was one of two men who he talked about privately about how much he admired their fathering skills at how patient they are with their kids. He will be GREATLY missed. But,I have hope that I will see him again because of the salvation of Jesus. Thank You Lord for taking away his pain.
My second thing that went on this week was my NP/nutritionist appt. I lost 9 lbs. in 3 weeks. They are ecstatic thrilled I know my calorie/fat/protein counts (why would you do all this and not know?). My nutritiontist said I just need to bump up my calories just a tiny bit! I'm close most days. I've lost already in 5 months what some banders lose in a year, so they are happy with the progress, called me a superstar. Hopefully, it keeps going!!
I went to Zumba for the first time this week. Ok, I have rhythm. Or at least I did I had a hard time keeping up!!! I was still the biggest gal in the room (intimidating). And I was doing fine sore-wise until I stood on my feet for two hours the next day then the Zumba soreness hit like a brick! I have been to the gym this week too!! The stupid scale, which I really need to only look at once a week, hasn't moved this week. Sigh. But yeah for me exercising more! I'm taking the kids to a waterpark today so I'm sure I'll get my workout there!!!!
Last and most certainly not least, today is P and I's anniversary!! We have been married 15 years today!! I love this man and can't wait to see what the next 15 years hold for us!!!

Rainy Wednesday
It's been a while, HI EVERYONE!! I've been a bit neglectful in my blogging for a couple of reasons and here's why.
First, it's been a bit busy around here! M is at camp this week and well, a lot goes into getting a kid ready for camp. You have to get all the stuff there is for camp, plus help the kid pack for camp, which includes getting all the laundry done. So, this weekend was a process of all that. Plus,a few of us from church, followed the church bus up to camp so that I could what this particular camp looked like (it was her first time at this camp) and so I could help her get settled. We were gone all day Monday!! Tuesday we were invited to swim with friends, which was great. And today, is well, today :)
Secondly, and probably the biggest reason, is for band reasons. I have been doing pretty decently eating wise. Not perfect by any means. But, I haven't seen the scale move in a while. And well, I couldn't figure out why. Am I in starvation mode because I haven't been getting enough calories, is my body trying to take a break or catch up from losing so much so fast? I didn't know. Well, I am happy to report that I have finally seen some new numbers this week. Whew. So, I am back on track! I do have a nutritionist appointment that will coincide with my NP appointment next week. But as of this morning, 52.4 and counting!! Can I get a cyber Woo Hoo???
Let's see what else is going on? Oh yes, today is my root canal. Had I been going on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday of last week, I might actually be looking forward to it. I was in so much pain last week. The last few days I have been feeling better. The pain is down to a dull ache with cold sensitivity. But, I really don't care to have this feeling forever, so off I go.
Lastly, I am back on Facebook. Back in February I was praying about somethings in my life that were really bothering me and I found that when the Lord was talking to me He was reminding me that I was spending much, MUCH too much time on Facebook. Also, that I was missing out on my friendships because of Facebook. Yes, it helps bring some people closer together, but I was missing something with it. So, I felt after having the conversations with God, that He was saying to take a break off it. For me this was really hard. I am a very social person. So, to get off of something that makes you even more social has been hard. I have snuck peaks at my husband's, but haven't used mine in months. This week, I reactivated it, cleaned up my friends list a little. Ya know how that goes, right?
Now I'm just sitting her in the dark, waiting for L to wake up and for the thunderstorms to start. Hoping my M is doing well at camp, glad for P that it will be a lot cooler for him at work today and VERY happy to see that new number on the scale this morning!

To Blog or Not To Blog...
.....that is today's question.
I'm afraid if I get to into blogging today it'll be another "pity party" post.
Sigh.
I won't get into all my stress. Instead what I am going to do is remember that God has got my back. No matter come what may. I have got to remember that!!!!!!!!!!!!
Onto band news....really, the same stinking 2 lbs. up and down, up and down. I'm stuck on the same stinkin' 2 lbs. Seriously.....
Does anyone have Zumba for Wii?
M is going to camp on Monday. I have to get the laundry done so we can get packing.
L is going to be lost without M in the house all next week.
P does not have to work this weekend! First one in a LONG time!! Bad for money, woo hoo for some family time.
I'm going out with my lifelong girlfriends tonight to celebrate one of their birthday's! Excited for that! And one of their friend's is coming along and she had the sleeve done, so I am interested to compare some notes with her.
It's Friday. There ya go!

Appointment
So, I didn't get into any trouble ;) In fact, my NP is quite happy with my progress. Not happy with my water in take, so I have to do better there. I also need to be more consistent with my exercise.
But other than that I'm doing well. I'm still not getting enough calories, so she is having me see the nutritionist when I come in, in 2 weeks. She said, maybe for some reason she has me on a reduced calorie for the first 6 months. She didn't know. So I followed the original plan today. Slight change (2 oz of protein with dinner instead of 1 oz and 2 oz of veggies instead of 1 oz of fruit and 1 oz of veggies....also I had 2 oz of fruit at lunch instead of 1 oz of fruit and 1 oz of veggies).
Good thing is, I'm easily getting my protein in.
Ok, onto family stuff. M went with my sister-in-law and my niece & nephew to visit my father-in-law and mother-in-law in a different part of the state over the weekend. There they went to a demolition derby, on a train ride, went swimming, had s'mores and what I'm sure was a big highlight for my girl, had peanut butter. With L having major food allergies and our house being a peanut free house, any chance she gets, she takes it! She loved spending time with the family!
L has been particularly good! God is giving me wisdom where this little boy is concerned. We are pushing his boundaries food-wise and he is doing quite well. We had steak off the grill for the second time since starting the "you are eating what we are eating" experiment and although it took quite a while, it didn't take quite as much prompting to remind him to eat as it did last time. Nor was there as much arguing. Hardly any in fact. We have cut tv watching down for both kids dramatically and that has made huge differences in his behavior! I just want to give the Lord all the credit for giving me some wisdom where raising these kids are concerned! It's a tough road sometimes!
Ok, well, I'm going to go catch up on Masterchef....go Christine (isn't she awesome?)!
Night everyone.....
P.S. We did the stairs and L said, he thinks that they need to put in an elevator right here (as he pointed to the stairwell).

Father's Day Edition
Father's Day
I wasn't blogging really during Mother's Day. So, I have some guilt about not blogging about how awesome my mom is, so I will need to set aside some time soon and tell you all about her!
But, in honor of today being Father's Day, I think it's important to tell you about all the Fathers in my life.
First, is my Dad. My dad is a Southern man made into a Northern man. He was raised in the south by his parents. His own dad passed away when my dad was young so he and his 5 siblings were raised by a single mom with not a lot of money. When he went away to Bible college, I'm sure this was a big deal to them all. That's where he met my mom. They met and fell in love. I'm not actually sure why, but she came home after only a year away at school and well, he followed her. And that was it. A couple of years later they were married. A year after they were married I was born. He is a HARD worker. He has a tremendous work ethic. Most people could learn from my dad. I could learn from my dad. My dad is the kind of man that has a BIG heart. He is very tender hearted. He has an opinion on most things, he knows a lot of stuff, he came back to the Lord when I was a teenager, he meant business when he was discipling you, but you knew he loved you. My dad loves my mom more than I can say and shows it by actions and words. He loves me and my brother by the way he raised us by teaching us ethics and morals and the ways of the Lord and what's right and wrong. My dad is my little autistic boy's big buddy. They have a little thing and it is one of the sweetest things to see.
My Papa (pronounced paw-paw). Well, my Papa has been gone this summer 8 years. He was a man who had been through a lot. He was raised in the south as well and moved north for work. He worked in a place where he moved to a place where he could have had a more prestigious position of management (I hear) but he turned it down, because he didn't want, I don't think it was the responsibility per se, but maybe the drama that comes along with that type of position. See he would have been moving from the blue collar side of the world to the white collar side. He chose to stay on the blue collar side. Still kind of a "boss" but not quite the manager. My grandpa had a brain aneurysm when I was like 7 or 8 years old. I think my mom and I were at a Brownie meeting. That changed our lives forever. That was in the early '80's. We are blessed that he lived, but his personality was never the same. He was a patient man before and kind of lost that. He was still a sweet man, but not quite the same. I don't remember much before he got sick but everyone tells me stories of me running into his house and he would have butterscotches hidden under the couch for he and I to share and watch tv. I was the only grandchild for a couple of years and the only girl for a long time. At his job he ended up having to medically retire because he couldn't do his work anymore. Everywhere we turned around our town we would run into someone he would know from work. Sometimes he would know their name, sometimes just faces. But, I think almost every restaurant we went to there was somebody. I hear he was tough, but fair. One memory I have is that he made a bunch snowballs in the winter and kept them in the freezer until the summer for us to have a snowball fight.
My husband. My goodness what an awesome man I got. Who knew at 16 years old (that's how old he was when I met him) that not only would I meet the boy that would become the man who would not only be my husband but the father to my kids!! He is an AWESOME dad. LOVES, LOVES, LOVES these babies (I say babies but they are almost 12 and 6 1/2)and he is not the kind of man that only plays and doesn't discipline. You know those kind of guys? I hear about them. My husband, thankfully, is not one of them. He plays with them and disciplines them. He loves them, but will talk with them. He shows them how to do things, sits down and does homework with them (I have no idea how I would have helped my poor M with her math this year had it not been for him). He couldn't be a better father. Honestly. I am in love with the man that is my husband and the father of my children.
The Lord.
I saved Him for last. If it wasn't for the Lord, I don't know where I would be. I know a lot people on tv and throughout life talk about God so easily, but I wonder how many of you have people in your lives that have an actual relationship with God. Well, I do. When I was young my parents took me to church. I learned all the stories from the Bible and all the things they wanted me to learn, but it took me becoming a teenager and adult to hear the things and think about them for myself to really think about them to understand them and believe them to know that my God is real. He created this universe. I know the world is scary. I know a lot of bad things happen. But, a lot of good happens too. God loves you. HE LOVES YOU!!!!!! With everything He had (His own Son's life) He gave it all for you!
So, to all my Father's in my life, Happy Father's Day!!! I love you!!!!!!!!

Tired
I haven't blogged in a few days.
Tired.
Tired of crying.
Tired of lots of stuff.
Don't you hate when the junk in your life pops it head up ALL at the same time? I mean seriously?????
This is when I should be relying on the Lord more and I feel like I run away from Him. I'm a coward. I should cling to Him, instead I drive further away. I'm so glad our God is a patient God, because if He wasn't I would be a lost case.
It's been a long few days....be patient with me blogesphere.

It's time to quit playing around.....
I posted something on my FB page today. I read of yet another earthquake, this time in Taiwan. When I heard this it draws me back to the Gospels where it speaks of wars, earthquakes....people, we are getting close.
I know those of us that were raised in a Pentecostal environment we have always heard about the Rapture and how it's getting close, but man, I can't help to think we are getting close.
Now mind you God's time is so different than ours, but what if this is it? What if the time on this Earth is wrapping up? Am I sure that God would welcome me into His kingdom?
Often, I know I fall short. Yes, I go to church. Yes, I love God. But, is my life what it should be? No. I don't know. But, see that's the problem. I should know without a doubt.
We all sin. We ALL sin. And, no sin is bigger than another, well, except one. I have such a hard time with that. I know we all do, but God is a black and white God. It either is, or it isn't.
I have so much work on myself to do. I should say, I need God to do so much work in me. My heart feels like it has gotten so hardened. It needs softening. My devotion and prayer time. Oh my goodness, does it need work.
I often feel alone in this walk, like I am the only one who worries am I going to make it? The sad thing is that I had these same thoughts as a teenager and thought once I am a grown up, I will be ok. Geez, I am going to be 35 years old this year, you can't get more grown up than that!
My heart loves the Lord. I am concerned for others, especially family and friends that don't know the Lord. But, I feel like I am short on what I should be.....
Am I alone?

Contemplating
I've been contemplating blogging all day.
It started first thing this morning when I woke up. I had a dream. I have LOTS of dreams (you can read about another dream here). I had a dream that someone who died, came back to the earth. His family was so thrilled to see him and he put on his best face. When I asked him how Heaven was he didn't really answer me too much. I asked him if he went to Heaven, he said no.
As I am sitting here in the dark thinking about this, my heart is beating just a little faster and I could almost feel tears down my face.
I feel the need to blog, like the Lord is asking me to blog. I have so much to say, but so scared to hurt feelings, but I have to do what I feel HE wants me to do.
Anyone who knows me, knows I love. I don't like to hurt anyone. I don't like when people hurt.
Heaven and Hell are real places. I believe it. And I also believe someday we are all going to one place or the other. God has made a way for us to get to Heaven. His name is Jesus. Jesus came to earth and suffered the most horrifying death imaginable.
Lots of people believe a lot of things. I believe in the Bible cover to cover. My Bible doesn't say anywhere that just by being a good person you can go to Heaven. It tells me that I have to confess that Jesus is Lord, that He died on the cross and rose again on the third day. I also have to ask Him for forgiveness.
I also believe that we all sin. We ALL sin. But, if we continue to sin and not strive to do the things God asks of us, then He can't accept us into Heaven.
I don't think God asks too much of us. But, just like anyone, He has standards.
I love all of my family and friends. I don't want anyone to miss out on Heaven because I didn't tell them how much God loves them and just wants us to turn from what deceives us and turn to Him.
This CHRISTmas season, I am thankful for Him. Because without that Gift, I would be lost.

Decided I needed to blog.....
Today has been a very calm day. Quiet. Not a whole lot done, but relaxing. I love those days. This also probably would have been a great day to get my butt up and get to work. Clean, organize, all the things I keep putting off. Yet, here I sit.
The end of the school year is upon us. I am sad to see the people who love my kids and have taken care of them academically this year go, but unfortunately, that's life. I told M's teacher the other day we hoped he taught 4th grade next year. I wanted to let him know how much we have appreciated him and the work that he's done with her.
So, what are your plans for the summer? We have a few things that we would like to do. First and foremost is to get L potty trained. Ugh. I hate that he's behind in so many areas, but I have also see the progress that he's made this year. I am very proud of him and I love him so very, very much. This mommy is a very grateful one. Secondly, is to keep M on target for 4th grade. I have decided this is the summer to push more independence and so I am creating a chore chart. Yes, it will be chores along with school initiatives like study island and reading. I told her she could earn money or toys. She has chosen toys. And I am sure that will translate into a new DS game or two. But, if she works hard, she will have earned it. My final goal for the summer is to take the kids down south to visit my family. I want to meet new family members I have never met and for them to meet my family.
I would love to get comments on my blog, so feel free. Also, here is my second question for you, what blogs do you read? Currently this is the list that I try keep up on:

Tonight
Anyone who knows me really well, knows I don't sleep well. A while ago I was diagnosed with slight sleep apnea when I sleep on my back. Well, that doesn't really help me, since I don't sleep on my back. I just constantly dream all night long. Sometimes good dreams, sometimes not so good. But, none the less, my brain doesn't shut off at night.
On Saturday night I stayed up and watched most of SNL. I finally drifted off to sleep around 1ish. Thus began my long night. I had dream on top of dream, mostly not good. I finally woke up around 8:45 am and was exhausted. I decided to go ahead and stay home from church.
Fast forward to this morning. Since I didn't sleep well on Saturday night, I ended up taking a nap on Sunday. Thus began a terrible cycle. I was up until about 3:30 am last night. So, when the alarm went off at 7:30 today, again, exhausted. But, I got up. A little while ago I was laying in bed, again going to nap (don't you just love a good nap?) and a thought flew into my head.
"Christ is coming tonight"......
Now the Bible says no man knows the day nor the hour. But I thought, hmmm. What if we did know He was coming back tonight? Would I really be laying here in bed trying to sleep? No, I would be telling everyone that doesn't have a relationship with Him all about Him.
Let me tell you about Jesus. He is so much more than I can put into words. You know those times in your life when you just don't think you can take anymore, or you cannot handle one more thing. He is the One that comforts me.
When I was in an ambulance racing to the closest hospital thinking that my baby could be dying, did I spend the entire time crying? NO! I was praying. My family was praying. My church was praying. L is alive and well because of prayers to my God!!
I have had a lot of depression in my heart throughout my teenage and early adult years. God is a Healer. He helped me to realize that life is hard, but it isn't as hard as we make it out to be.
He's my forgiver. Am I sinner? YES! We all are. But, by His grace, and His alone, I am forgiven. Have I ever killed someone? No. Have I ever lied? Yes. Sin is sin. God is a great big God! He created the entire universe. Don't you think He can forgive you? Of course He can. He's God. He can do whatever He wants. And trust me, He loves you and wants to forgive your sin.
The Bible tells me that no sin can enter Heaven. That's why I am writing this. If He truly were to come today, would you be with us in Heaven? Being a good person is wonderful. But, just being good won't get you into Heaven. Jesus would never have had to die on the cross if that were the case. We cannot work our way into Heaven. In 2 Timothy 1:9 it says, "who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began".
I love you and want to know that I did everything in my power to tell you about the love of God. He sent His One and Only Son to die for us (John 3:16). That all we need to do is to ask Jesus to forgive your sin, confess that you know that Jesus died and was raised from the dead and believe it in your heart and you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
I don't ever want to think I could have done more to tell you. I want you to know I love you and am fighting for your soul.
I am here for anything. Questions, for you to be angry at me and me still want you to know how much I care for you and your soul. Please don't disregard this. Just think on it.

Life
You know, when life gets hard it is sometimes hard to remember that it goes so very quickly....
Baby Kayleigh passed away yesterday. I don't know this family personally. But, my heart breaks for them. It has been such a difficult year I am sure for them. They were never allowed to take their baby home from the hospital. Their other two children had only seen their sister once in like an 8 month time period. Hard. Awful. Sad.
I am thankful today for my children. Both of whom can talk, walk, eat, play, smile, laugh. I am going to try today to be more patient. To remember that time goes by so quickly. To make more time to laugh together. To smile. To remember they will not always be this age. I will love listening to them make each other laugh.
I will also be thinking about the Freeman family this week. I pray God's tremendous comfort for them. That only He can give. I will pray for the other two children, who I am sure are confused and sad. But, glad to see mom and dad.
Join me in holding your loved ones a little closer today, because we can.
For those of us that have lost children, remember your hurt and pray for the Freeman's.

TV.....
For anyone who has DVR'd House and has not watched it yet, you may want to wait until you watch it before reading this.
It's not a surprise to many, but I love tv. Probably too much and I probably need to do something about it. I do love to read too. I know I am probably weird, anyway.
I should be packing up my lunch and head out the door for work, but I wanted to talk about a show I watched last night.
I really enjoy House. Hugh Laurie in that role is amazing and I am sure quite the opposite of how he really is.
But last night, they portrayed a co-worker who commited suicide. How sad. How very sad. I have been blessed in my life to not have anyone who has commited suicide and for those of you who have, my heart very much goes out to you. This show upset me so much that it filtered in my dreams last night and someone in my life (in my dream) commited suicide. It was very much upsetting.
I just want to put it out there, that if you are considering this, please let me find help for you. The Bible says that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He can help, we just have to let Him.
Love to my friends and family.

My Jesus
I am a born again Christian. And if you don't already know that about me, it makes me sad, because that means I am not doing my job. I am not showing the love of Jesus or telling you about Him.
This morning in service we heard a message about the Rapture. Have you ever heard of the Rapture? Many shows have probably made fun of us Christians thinking this is a crazy thing. But the Bible tells me different.
In Matthew 24:42-44 the Bible says....
"42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."
What this means is that God is sending His Son back to earth for His people. Those people who have asked God for forgiveness and have turned from their way (sin) and proclaim that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died and rose from the dead. Are you one of those people? I am.
God is an awesome God. He sent His one and only Son to die for us so that we might know Him and follow His word. He gives us hope for a new tomorrow but does not promise it to us.
A lot of people think that God is some giant man sitting in Heaven waiting to destroy you. In fact it is quite the opposite. God loves you. He wants nothing but the best for you. He is like any Father. He has rules for us. He is disappointed when we do wrong, but He loves us more than anything and only has what is best for us in mind.
Do you know my Jesus? Because He wants to be your Jesus.
Please know we have all sinned and but we can be forgiven. I am not writing this blog to scare you, I am not writing this blog to tell you you've done something wrong, because I am the first to admit I do thing wrong all the time. I just want you to know that Jesus is coming.
He is coming soon. If you don't know Him, please let me tell you about Him. Get to know Him.
I love you my friends and family!!!
