Had to do it......

I had to do it....

I did....

I was doing so well too.

I had to email my nutritionist.

It felt like defeat.

I felt like I didn't know what I was doing.

I was doing so well on each stage. That was until I got to real food.

Here is the email I sent to her...

Hey Nutrionist (no, I didn't really say that, I called her by her name),
Ok, I need some help. I'm sad to have to admit it. I was on track and doing really well on the full liquid, pureed and soft stages but now that I am on the real food track since last Friday (yes I realize it's only been 4 days), I feel a little lost and I don't want to get too lost too early in the game. I kinda got excited about being able to eat again, I'm sure like most people do, and got off track. I'm down a total of 46 lbs (25 pre-op and 21 post-op - that's 21 in 5 weeks) but I plan on staying on track and doing really well so if you don't mind helping me, I would GREATLY appreciate it!!!

I am looking at your Daily Menu Plan for Weeks 7 - 6 Months and I plugged what I think would be something I would eat on a daily basis into sparkpeople (for some reason I like it better than my fitness pal, but if you REALLY like MFP better, I can switch). I **thought** I was supposed to be eating like 1,200 calories a day, but according to the plan, there is no way close I am getting to 1,200 calories, no the 70-90g of protein a day. So, what I can do to make this better????

I would only be getting like 435 calories and 66g of protein. Now, I would probably have some I can't believe it's not butter spray on my toast (not included) and also a tbsp. of ranch on my lettuce (not included)....maybe not that much for only an oz. of lettuce.

Did you feel lost at the beginning or am I alone?


  1. First of all, I'm confused on the second last part of the post, is that her comments? Are you saying that she wants you to only eat 435 calories? Your weightloss has been grea so far, congrats!

  2. I feel a little lost too.... I have my first fill appointment on Monday, so I hope to get a little direction too. I'm back on regular foods and I'm eating about a 3rd of what I was eating pre WLS and not snacking.

  3. I'm afraid I can't help with this part as my instructions weren't nearly as strict. I was told 1 cup of food and you can have 1/2 cup more if you really need it. protein first then veggies and THEN starch/carbs if you're still hungry. If I obsessed over the numbers like this, I'd go crazy! I hope your nutritionist can help you out!((HUGS))

  4. Sorry for the confusion. No they want me to eat, I think, like 1,200 calories a day but with the meal plan the have for me I plugged it into sparkpeople (I did forget the milk for my protein shakes) its roughly around 550 calories a day not 435 like previously stated. No where close to what they want. That's why I'm so confused. They seem to contradict themselves. So, that's why I need the clarification. I feel like I'm going coo-coo!!!
